Scope and Content

Manuscripts submitted to the International Technology and Education Journal (ITEJ) should align with the journal’s aims and scope, contribute original scholarly work, and be prepared in clear academic English. Submissions are expected to address topics related to technology and education and demonstrate theoretical, methodological, or practical relevance to the field.

Manuscript Preparation

File Requirements

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Tables and figures must be of publication quality and embedded within the manuscript file.

All manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the APA 7th edition guidelines.

Required Components

Submissions should include the following components:

  • Title page including author names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID IDs
  • Abstract (150–250 words) and 3–5 keywords
  • Main text (Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion)
  • References formatted according to APA 7

Paragraph formatting and general layout should follow the journal template provided in the Author Guidelines.

Main Text Structure

Research articles are expected to follow the IMRAD structure:

  • Introduction: Background, relevant literature, research gap, and objectives
  • Methods: Research design, participants, instruments, procedures, and data analysis
  • Results: Clear presentation of findings supported by tables and figures
  • Discussion: Interpretation of results, implications, limitations, and directions for future research
  • Conclusion: Summary of key findings and contributions

Tables and Figures

  • All tables and figures must be cited in the text
  • Tables should be editable and not submitted as images
  • Figures should have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI
  • Accepted formats include JPEG, PNG, and TIFF
  • Each table and figure should include a descriptive caption
  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively

References

References must strictly follow the APA 7th Edition style.

  • Research articles are expected to demonstrate engagement with relevant and up-to-date literature
  • Authors are encouraged to include recent sources where appropriate
  • DOI information should be provided for references whenever available
  • Excessive self-citation should be avoided

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software as part of the editorial evaluation process. Manuscripts exhibiting unacceptable levels of similarity or evidence of research misconduct may be rejected at any stage of the review process.

Submission System and Process

ITEJ uses an independent online submission and manuscript management system for all submissions and peer-review procedures. Authors are required to submit their manuscripts through this system. Submissions via email are not accepted.

Peer Review

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process. Editorial decisions are based on originality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal’s scope, and contribution to the field.

Publication Ethics

Authors must adhere to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics. Submitted work should be original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, or other unethical practices. Detailed ethical principles are outlined on the Publication Ethics page.

Open Access and Fees

ITEJ is an open-access journal and does not charge any submission or publication fees. All articles are made freely available upon publication under a Creative Commons license.

After Acceptance

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and publication preparation. Authors may be contacted during this stage for minor revisions or final approval prior to publication.

Review Timeline

ITEJ aims to manage submissions in a timely and transparent manner.

Indicative timelines are as follows:

  • Initial editorial screening: approximately 1 week
  • Peer review process: typically 4–6 weeks
  • Revision period: depending on the extent of revisions required
  • Final decision: generally within 2 months of submission
  • Online publication: shortly after acceptance
